The set scores were 25-11, 24-26, 15-7.

The JV Bruinettes are now 5-3, playing next at home on Thursday against A.C. Flora.

Leading the way for Felton Lab was McKenzie Morgan with 8 aces, 2 kills, 1 dig, Ayana Daniels with 1 kill and 1 dig, Stephany Brailey with 1 ace and 2 kills, Kaitlyn Starks with 1 ace and 1 kill, Trinity Winningham with 2 aces and 2 kills, Lauren Whetstone with an ace.

Leading OPS was Skylar Stillinger with 6 service points, 2 aces, 1 kill, and 2 digs, and Abby Lyn Pantaleon with 4 service points and 2 aces.

Defensively for OPS, Campbell Delaney had 3 digs and Anna Catherine Evatt had 1 block.

Felton plays next on Thursday at 6 p.m. at Howard Middle.

OPS will travel to Columbia Wednesday for a tri-match with Hammond School and Holly Hill Academy.


Claflin volleyball

to host NGU in

home opener

After playing its first 10 matches on the road to start the season, the Claflin University volleyball team will host North Greenville Wednesday (Sept. 26) in its 2017 home opener.

Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. in Tullis Arena on the CU campus.

The Lady Panthers enter the game with a 3-7 overall record. North Greenville brings a 6-6 record into the contest.

This is the second time the teams will have faced off this season. The two met on Sept. 6 with North Greenville coming away with a 3-0 victory.

Claflin will return to the road for its next four contests, beginning Friday when it travels to intrastate rival Benedict. The Lady Panthers will face Paine College in Augusta, Ga. Oct. 3 before making up road games with UNC-Pembroke (Oct. 5) and Fayetteville State (Oct. 6) which were rescheduled due to the impact of Hurricane Irma.

Claflin will return home Thursday (Oct. 12) to host Albany State in its Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) home opener.
