ALLENDALE – The Orangeburg Post 4 American Legion Baseball team had endured three consecutive rainouts heading into Tuesday night's League I game against Hampton Post 108 at USC Salkehatchie.

They got to play, but picked up the victory without even throwing a pitch. Hampton did not have umpires at the game in time to start, so the home team forfeited to Post 4, moving Orangeburg to 6-6 overall, 4-2 in league play.

With both teams and coaching staffs ready for a game, it was decided to go ahead and play an unofficial game. Post 4 won 6-1.

Orangeburg plays against Aiken on Wednesday at Aiken High School at 7 p.m. in a non-league game.

In Tuesday's unofficial game, Post 4 notched three runs in the fifth inning.

Hunter Bauer earned the win for Orangeburg, allowing three hits and no runs across three innings, striking out one and walking one. Heston Thompson, Heath LaChance, and Hanks Avinger all put in work in relief out of the bullpen.

Jacob Lope took the loss for Hampton. He went two innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out four.

Deuce Bailey led Post 4 on offense, going 2-for-3, with an RBI.

Jackson Morello went 2-for-2 to lead Hampton.
