The South Carolina men's basketball team will play Friday in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals.

The Gamecocks are on the top half of the bracket and will face No. 5 Auburn, an 81-71 winner over Missouri on Thursday.

The game tips off at approximately 3:30 (ESPN) inside Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn.

South Carolina is 21-27 all-time in SEC Tournament action, including a 1-1 record in last year's event as the No. 11 seed.

The winner of Friday's contest will advance to the semifinals to face the winner of the first quarterfinal matchup, which will feature No. 8 seed Florida vs. the tournament's top seed, LSU. 

Clemson baseball hosts Irish

on St. Patrick's Day weekend

CLEMSON - The Clemson Tigers baseball team will host Notre Dame in a weekend series at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

Games are Friday (6 p.m.), Saturday (3 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.) and will be shown on ACC Network Extra.

Projected starting pitchers are:

• Friday - LHP Tommy Sheehan (UND) vs. RHP Davis Sharpe (CU)

• Saturday - LHP Cameron Brown (UND) vs. LHP Mat Clark (CU)

• Sunday - RHP Cameron Junker (UND) vs. LHP Keyshawn Askew (CU)

Clemson, which has won five games in a row, defeated No. 11 Coastal Carolina 8-5 at home on Wednesday night. Also, the team to score first in each of the Tigers' last 8 games has lost.
