Holly Hill Academy took a 3-0 win against Orangeburg Prep on Monday, with set scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-11.

Leading the way for the Lady Raiders were Halle Mott with 12 kills, Hannah Mott with 6 kills, Madison Steele with 5 aces and 4 kills, and Karsyn Smoak with 5 kills and 22 assists.

HHA travels to Beaufort Academy on Wednesday, with JV starting play at 5 p.m.

Branchville 3

Colleton County 1

WALTERBORO - The Branchville Yellow Jackets (22-10-1 overall, 8-0 in Region 5A) won a non-region game against the Colleton County Cougars on Monday, with set scores of 25-22, 25-12, 23-25 and 25-17.

The Jackets were led by Brianna Wiles with 11 aces and 5 kills, Ebony Butler with 5 kills, Carley Kinard with 9 kills, 17 digs and 24 receptions, Kelsey Kinard with 19 kills and 3 aces, Abby Funchess with 27 assists, 2 aces, and Haley Hess with 24 digs and 21 receptions.

Branchville is in action again on Tuesday, Oct. 8, hosting Wade Hampton.

Dorchester Academy 3

Andrew Jackson Academy 1

ST. GEORGE - Dorchester Academy took a 3-1 home win against Andrew Jackson Academy on Monday, with set scores of 25-12, 24-26, 25-16 and 25-19.

Maura Weathers led the Lady Raiders with 5 kills and 2 digs, while Lydia Hofstetter had 4 kills, 2 aces, 8 digs and 6 assists.

DA is 10-5 overall and 5-2 in region play.

The Lady Raiders will play at home against Patrick Henry Academy next Monday at 6 p.m. and next Tuesday at home against Clarendon Hall School at 6 p.m.

JV FOOTBALL

Calhoun Academy 44

Northwood Academy 12

Calhoun Academy beat Northwood Academy 44-12 on Monday, improving to 2-3 this season.

Connor Hayes scored on runs of 5, 10, and 3 yards, and threw a 40-yard TD pass to Carter Johnson and a 59-yard TD pass to Davis Holeman.

Holeman also had a 60-yard TD run.

Hayes connected with Carter Johnson for a 2-point conversion and ran in three 2-point conversions. Cade Carson ran in a 2-point conversion.

Turner Houck and Maverick Smith each recovered a fumble and H.B. Walling recovered an onside kick.

Cameron Crosby and Carson had 7 tackles each. Carson had two sacks. Smith had 5 tackles.

CA plays at Thomas Heyward on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Orangeburg Prep took a 2-1 win against Holly Hill Academy on Monday, with set scores of 25-12, 15-25, 25-12.

Offensively, OP was led by Anna Beth Lambrecht with 8 points, 6 aces, and 6 assists, Katherine Lambrecht with 8 points and 4 aces, Anna Brake Plummer with 6 points, 2 aces, Lauryn Williams with 6 points and 5 kills, and Anna Katherine Evatt with 5 kills.

Defensively, the Lady Indians were led by Anna Beth Lambrecht with 7 digs and Campbell Delaney with 6 digs.

For HHA, Taylor Weathers had 8 kills and Chloe Wren had 5 kills.

Orangeburg Prep will host Laurence Manning on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

HHA travels to Beaufort Academy on Wednesday to play at 5 p.m.

Colleton County 2

Branchville 0

WALTERBORO - Colleton County swept a home match with Branchville on Monday, with set scores of 25-18 and 25-18.

The Yellow Jackets (7-5) were led by Julia Smith with 14 receptions, Emily Heape with 5 kills, Mary Grace Vallentine with 4 kills, and Kira Infinger with 4 kills.

Branchville plays at home on Thursday against Bamberg.

Felton Lab won all 3 sets against William J. Clark on Monday to remain unbeaten, with set scores of 25-16, 25-16 and 25-5.

Felton Lab was led by Asia Millian with 3 aces, Darian Dawson with 4 aces, Lauren Whetstone with a kill, and Alaishus Mack with 5 aces.

Felton Lab will play Edisto Middle School on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
