Orangeburg Prep varsity

football game canceled

The Orangeburg Prep varsity football game scheduled for this Friday at home against Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach has been canceled due to the impact of Hurricane Dorian.

This game will not be rescheduled. The Indians will now have their home-opener on Friday, Sept. 13 against SCISA Class 2A's top-ranked Florence Christian Eagles.

SUMMERTON - Calhoun Academy swept a 3-0 win at Clarendon Hall on Tuesday, taking set scores of 25-20, 25-18 and 26-24.

The Lady Cavaliers were led by Blakely Kingsmore with 6 aces, a dig and 2 kills, Kaylee Kizer with 5 aces and 8 kills, Rebecca Haigler with 3 aces and 8 kills, and Jana Eddins with a dig.

CA (3-3) plays Monday at home against Colleton Prep at 5:30 p.m.

DALZELL - Orangeburg Prep lost a thrilling volleyball match at Thomas Sumter Academy on Tuesday by a 3-2 score.

Set scores for TSA in the win were 25-22, 25-25, 21-25, 15-25 and 15-13.

DALZELL - Orangeburg Prep picked up a 2-0 win at Thomas Sumter Academy on Tuesday, with set wins of 25-7 and 25-19.

Offensively, OP was led by Savannah McClain with 10 points and 6 aces, Katherine Lambrecht with 5 points and 2 aces, and Abby Lyn Pantaleon and Lauryn Williams added 2 kills each.

Orangeburg Prep will travel to Ben Lippen School on Thursday for a 5 p.m. match.

Branchville 2

ELLOREE - The Elloree Middle School Lady Warriors opened the season with a 3-2 win against the Branchville Middle School Yellow Jackets on Tuesday.

EMS won by set scores of 18-25, 25-8, 15-25, 25-23, 15-9.

Leading the Lady Warriors in scoring were Samiya Reaves with 37 points, 18 aces, Nehavi Aiken with 17 points, 9 aces, Yazzmiinee Palmer with 6 points, 3 aces, Brianna Kinley with 14 points, 6 aces, Iyanna Dash with 11 points, 3 aces, Shamira Clark with 9 points, 3 aces and Da’Kota Bryant with 4 points, 2 aces.

Elloree (1-0 ) will host Holly Hill-Roberts Middle School on Monday at “The Swamp.”
