OP 29, LMA 17

The Orangeburg Prep varsity girls defeated Laurence Manning 29-17 in the first round of the region tournament on Saturday at home.

Leading the way for the Lady Indians was Marlee Robinson with 14 points, including scoring her 1,000th career varsity point. Also for OP, Madison Garrick added 7 points, while JoJo Wolfe added 4 points.

OP will travel to the Sumter Civic Center on Monday to take on Florence Christian at 6:15 p.m. in the regional semifinals.

C. Hall 55, JDA 46

SUMMERTON – Clarendon Hall picked up a home region win against Jefferson Davis Academy on Friday, 55-46.

The Lady Saints were led by Amberly Way with 15 points, 11 rebounds and 8 steals. McKenzie Bagnal and Hannah Johndrow added 11 points each.

The Lady Saints finished their regular season with a 4-10 record.



OP 35, T-Byrnes 26

Orangeburg Prep defeated Trinity-Byrnes 35-26 at home on Saturday to start the region tournament.

Leading the Indians were Ryn Grubbs with 9 points, Campbell Delaney with 8 points, Anna Beth Lambrecht with 7 points, and Cate Fogle with 6 points.

OP advances to the region championship game on Tuesday at the Sumter Civic Center at 3:30 p.m. against Wilson Hall.


Hillcrest Golf Club

winter special rate

Hillcrest Golf Club is currently offering a winter special rate that will run through March 3.

For $20, Monday through Thursday, golfers can play unlimited holes until sundown.

Once this special rate ends, the spring golfing special will start on Sunday, March 10, when daylight saving time begins. Golfers will then be able to play unlimited holes after 1 p.m. until sundown for $20.
