VARSITY BASEBALL

OP 14, Pinewood 0

SUMMERVILLE - Orangeburg Prep improved to 10-8 with a road win at Pinewood Prep on Monday evening by a score of 14-0.

Josh Searson pitched a no-hitter through five innings to get the win for the Indians, finishing with six strikeouts, four walks, and no runs.

Offensively, the Indians produced 14 runs on 13 hits.

Leading hitters for OP were: Grant Axson 1-1, 2 runs and 2 RBI; Searson 1-3, 2 RBI; A.J. Tolbert 3-4; double and an RBI; Trace Furtick 1-3, 2 runs scored; Will Summers 2-4, 3 runs and 2 RBI; Wesley Wells 2-3, 3 runs and 2 RBI; Colby Thomas 1-1, RBI; Copeland Furtick 1-2, run, and an RBI; Evan Lambrecht 1-1, 2 RBI, run; Timothy Junious 1-1.

The Indians return to action for their final regular season game on Tuesday at home, hosting the Wilson Hall Barons for Senior Night at 6 p.m.

HOPKINS - Orangeburg-Wilkinson picked up a 29-7 win in their final Region 4-4A game of the season on Monday, earning the Bruins the fourth seed out of the region for state playoffs.

 O-W will play at Lancaster in the first round of playoffs on Thursday.

The Saints of Calhoun County will travel to play a first-round playoff game in SCHSL Class 2A competition at Timberland on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

VARSITY GOLF

OP tops B-E

The Orangeburg Prep Indians defeated Bamberg-Ehrhardt in a non-region match on Monday at Orangeburg Country Club.

Corey Antley fired an even-par 36 for OP, while teammates Riley Robinson and Harris Holstein carded a 38 and 39, respectively. McCullough Mims added a 44 to complete the scoring for the Indians.

The Indians will take on Calhoun Academy in St. Matthews at Calhoun Hills Golf Complex on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

VARSITY SOFTBALL

CC 15, CA Johnson 0

The Calhoun County Lady Saints shut out C.A. Johnson 15-0 on Monday to finish Region 3-2A play.

Zailee Edwards was the winning pitcher, collecting 7 strikeouts.

Leading hitters for CC were: Edwards 2-3, RBI; Shamya Smith 2-3, RBI; Shaprie Miller 2-3, RBI.

CC will host Blacksburg on Thursday at 6 p.m. in a first-round playoff game in SCHSL Class 2A bracket play.
