CORDOVA – The Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders baseball team completed the home-and-away season sweep of non-region games with the Edisto Cougars on Thursday night, with a 6-4 road win.
Just 8 days earlier, B-E took an 8-7 win against the Cougars in Bamberg.
Malik Grant went 2-for-3, with a double, RBI and a run scored to lead the Red Raiders on offense.
Edisto out-hit Bamberg-Ehrhardt 8 to 5, but it wasn't enough.
The home team got on the scoreboard in the first inning when Skye Foster singled in a run.
The game was knotted at 3-all after 3 innings of play.
Bamberg-Ehrhardt pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning.
For Edisto, Dylan Tyler struck out 2 and allowed 4 runs on 3 hits over 3 innings on the mound. Will Rickenbaker and Josh Goins each came on in relief appearances for the Cougars.
Edisto plays at Pelion on Friday at 6 p.m. in a Region 5-3A contest.
B-E plays host to Calhoun County on Thursday, March 21 in another non-region contest.

ST. MATTHEWS – The Calhoun County Lady Saints took a 17-7 win on Thursday against Ridge Spring-Monetta in non-region play.
The winning pitcher was Alex Ancik.
Leading hitters for CC were Alex Ancik 2-for-4 with 3 RBI; Shamya Smith 2-for-4 with 2 RBI; McKayla Zeigler 2-for-4 with an RBI; Aubrey Broadway 2-for-4 with an RBI; and KatieRae Croxton 2-for-4 with an RBI.
The Lady Saints play next on Tuesday, hosting Eau Claire at 6 p.m.
Branchville 17, Cross 0
BRANCHVILLE – The Branchville Lady Jackets shut out Cross by a 17-0 score at home on Thursday, moving their record to 7-3.
Seniors Anna Crider and Destyne Paul each had a home run in the convincing win. Crider also collected another hit and had 4 RBI.
Sophomore Olivia Banks got the victory in the circle and she also had 2 hits.
Branchville plays in a home doubleheader on Monday against C.E. Murray.

BRANCHVILLE – On Thursday, the Yellow Jackets moved to 3-1 this season with a 17-0 shutout in 3 innings against visiting Woodland.
Blake Connor earned the win for Branchville, collecting 6 strikeouts against a hit, while throwing just 26 pitches.
At the plate, the Yellow Jackets were led by Malachi Lincoln 3-for-3, with 3 doubles, Blake Connor 2-for-3, Carter Leggett 2-for-2, with 2 doubles, Aiden McDaniel 2-for-3, Wil Joyner with 1 hit, 3 runs, and a sacrifice fly, Bubba Lytle with a single and Chandler Looper with a base hit.
Branchville plays Tuesday at Edisto at 4:30 p.m.
Chaplin wins at
Leslie Chaplin of Neeses took 1st place overall in the women's Fast Sea Kayak division of the Sea Island Rotary Biathlon held at Hunting Island State Park in Beaufort County this past weekend.
Chaplin started out with a good paddle on the 6-mile course and finished the 4-and-a-half-mile run to take the 1st-place finish.
Pete Chaplin of Neeses finished in 6th place overall in the men's Fast Sea Kayak division.
