ST. GEORGE - Dorchester Academy took a 3-0 win at home against Jefferson Davis Academy on Tuesday, with set scores of 25-12, 25-20 and 25-18.
Laura Singletary led the Lady Raiders with 7 kills, and Josie Fineran led the team with 7 aces. Savanna Varn had 6 kills, 5 aces, and 3 digs. Lydia Hofstetter had 5 kills, a block and 2 digs. Saylor Judy led DA with 23 assists and 2 aces.
DA will play at home on Monday against John Paul II at 6 p.m., and Tuesday at home against Holly Hill Academy at 6 p.m.
MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL
Bamberg Middle 3
On Tuesday, Bamberg Middle took a 3-1 win against Carver-Edisto Middle.
The Lady Cougars return just 3 players from the 2018 team, but were led by Paris Jennings, Addison Jameson and Jasmyn Stewart.
CEMS will play Monday at 5 p.m. against Clark Middle School.

Felton Lab picked up a 3-0 win at home on Tuesday against North Middle School, with set scores of 25-17, 25-8 and 25-16.
Felton Lab was led by Lauren Whetstone with 2 aces, Alaishus Mack with 4 aces and 2 kills, Darian Dawson with 4 aces and a kill, and Asia Millen with 4 aces.
Rose Festival Golf
on hold for now
The 2019 Rose Festival Golf Championship has been postponed once again.
Earlier this year, the decision was made to make improvements to the Hillcrest Golf Course and move the annual event from May to September.
It was later announced that the event would take place the weekend of Sept. 14.
Hillcrest Golf Club announced on Wednesday that the Rose Festival Golf Championship has been postponed indefinitely, along with the course having to close early on Wednesday and all day Thursday due to Hurricane Dorian's impact on the region.
The annual Wesley Christian School Benefit Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, September 21 at Hillcrest Golf Course.
Registration will be at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m.
There are still team spots and sponsorship spots available for the 4-person captain's choice event. Cost per golfer is $50, with snacks and lunch provided, along with prizes.
