SPARTANBURG -- The No. 20 Wofford Terriers earned the No. 7 seed in the Midwest Region of the 2019 NCAA Tournament, traveling to Jacksonville, Florida, to face the 10th-seeded Seton Hall Pirates in the first round on Thursday.
The Terriers, seeded No. 7 in the Midwest Region, grabbed the highest seed ever for a Southern Conference team since seeding began in 1979. This will be Wofford's fifth appearance in the NCAA Tournament and third in Jacksonville (2010, 2015). The winner of Wofford-Seton Hall will face either No. 2 Kentucky or No. 15 Abilene Christian on Saturday.
Seton Hall went 20-13 overall this season, going 9-9 in the Big East. The Pirates knocked off sixth-seeded Georgetown and second-seeded Marquette before falling to Villanova in the Big East Championship game 74-72 on Saturday.
The Terriers capped off their undefeated conference season, with a 70-58 win over UNCG to improve to 29-4 overall, going 21-0 against Southern Conference opponents.
