KINGSVILLE, TEXAS – Claflin University sprinters Derick St. Jean and Davion McKnight-Allen have qualified for the finals in the 400 meters and the 200 meters, respectively, at the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Championships, which will run thru Saturday, 25, is being hosted by Texas A&M University-Kingsville and contested at the Javelina Stadium in Kingsville, Texas.

St. Jean (6-1, 180, Fr., Roseau, Dominica) finished second in his heat of the 400 meters with a 46.30 to qualify for the finals. He will run in lane seven of the finals which are scheduled for Saturday (May 25) at 7:25 p.m. ET.

McKnight-Allen (5-9, 157, Jr., Florence) ran a 10.39 (second in his heat), in qualifying for the 100 meters finals, which are also set for Saturday (May 25). McKnight-Allen will also run out of lane seven. The 100 meters is to start at 7:45 p.m.
Both St. Jean and McKnight Allen will compete in the 200 meter preliminaries on Friday (May 24) at 6:50 p.m. ET.
