Members of the Claflin University women's cross country team

STATESBORO, Ga. – Esther Chukwunike finished in the top 20 to lead the Claflin University women’s cross country team on Saturday (Sept. 21) at the Eagles XC Country Challenge hosted by Georgia Southern University.

Chukwunike clocked a 2:48.45 in the 5K as the Lady Panthers finished 7th overall.

Nytajah Smalls clocked a 28:06.92, Destiny Hall Claflin finished with a time of 32:29.33 along with Alexus Edmond (33:10.06) and Kiara Belton (33:11.11) to round out the competitors for Claflin.

Claflin will return to action this Saturday, September 28, when they travel to Due West to participate in the Flying Fleet Invitational hosted by Erskine College.
