The Claflin University women’s basketball program has released its 2019-2020 schedule, which includes non-conference opponents from four different NCAA Division II conferences.
For the third straight season, the Lady Panthers will open play on the road and will play seven of their first nine games on the road.
Claflin will have four non-conference matchups and 12 home games over its 26-game slate.
Claflin, which enters its second season as a member of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), will open its campaign at Anderson University of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) on November 13.
The Lady Panthers will host Stillman College in Claflin's 2019 home-opener and annual Homecoming Game, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16.
Claflin will then open a four-game road stretch at Francis Marion University out of the Peach Belt Conference on Monday, Nov. 18, before heading to Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) for a non-conference contest on Thursday, Nov. 21.
“We’re excited about our 2019-2020 season,” third-year Claflin head coach Revonda Whitley said. “Much like last season, this year has the makings for a great season, full of challenges against outstanding teams that we are looking forward to playing.”
Claflin will open CIAA conference play with a pair of road games November 23 and 25 against Virginia State University and Virginia Union University, respectively.

The Lady Panthers will also face CIAA Foes Lincoln University and Bowie State University in non-conference action on Dec. 12 and 14, respectively.
Between the road games, the Lady Panthers will host Winston-Salem State University, Dec. 2 in CIAA play.
Claflin will close out the 2019 calendar year at home with CIAA games against St. Augustine’s University (Dec. 18) and Shaw University (Dec. 21).
The Lady Panthers will resume play in the New Year on Monday, Jan. 6, when they travel to Shaw University for a CIAA matchup. Claflin will then return home to host Virginia Union in a non-conference game and Bowie State in a conference contest.
Coach Whitley’s squad will be on the road Jan. 15 at Johnson C. Smith, Jan. 20 at Winston-Salem State and Jan. 23 at Benedict. The Lady Panthers will host Lincoln University (PA) on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 1:30 p.m.
Claflin will close out its season with five of eight home games. The Lady Panthers host Livingstone College (Jan. 27), Fayetteville State University (Feb. 3), Virginia State (Feb. 5), Johnson C. Smith (Feb. 8) and Elizabeth City State on February 22 for senior day. During the stretch, Claflin will travel to St. Augustine’s (Jan. 29), Fayetteville State (Feb. 13) and Livingstone (Feb. 18).
All Claflin home games are played at Tullis Arena inside of the Jonas T. Kennedy Health and Wellness Complex on the campus of Claflin University.
