Claflin's Jackson honored

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Claflin University women’s basketball freshman guard Dashia Jackson was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Rookie of the Week. The weekly honors were announced by the league office on Monday.

Brionna Pate of Winston-Salem State was named the Player of the Week while Daisa Harris of Livingstone earned Newcomer of the Week.

Jackson, who earned her fourth Rookie of the Week honor, scored a game-high 22 points with 2 rebounds and 1 assist in the Lady Panthers' lone game of the week. She connected on 5-of-7 three pointers and 5-of-7 free throws.

Claflin will close out its four-game road swing on Thursday in Columbia at Benedict College.
