The Panthers will have seven non-conference matchups and 14 home games across the 29-games slate.
For the second straight season, the Claflin men’s basketball team will start the campaign on the road. During opening weekend, the Panthers travel to West Chester, Pa. to participate in the CIAA-PSAC Challenge, Friday, Nov. 8-9. Claflin will open the challenge with host West Chester on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Panthers will then face Kutztown on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
Claflin will play its home-opener on Wednesday, Nov. 13 (1:30 p.m.) versus Augusta University out of the Peach Belt Conference. The Panthers will then host Fisk University on Saturday, Nov. 16, for their annual Homecoming Game at 3:30 p.m.
“We open up the 2019-20 season at the conference challenge against two teams that participated in the NCAA regional tournament, which will be a good test for us early,” Claflin head coach Ricky Jackson said. “We then return home to play against Augusta University, a program that played for the regional championship in the 2018-19 season.
"The non-conference schedule is a good challenge for us early and will get us prepared for conference play.”
After the homecoming game, Claflin will hit the road for six of its next eight games, beginning Thursday, Nov. 21 at Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Foe Elizabeth City State University in non-conference action. The Panthers will then open CIAA conference play with a pair of road games November 23 and 25 against Virginia State University a Virginia Union University, respectively.
