Atlanta, Ga. – The Claflin University softball team scored three runs in the first, one in the fifth, and four in the seventh, en route to completing the season sweep of Clark Atlanta, winning 8-6 in the third game of the three-game series.

The win pushes the Lady Panthers record to 21-15 overall and 9-2 in the SIAC.

Clark Atlanta drops to 11-22 overall and 7-8 in the SIAC.

Senior Chelsea Hall finished the game with three hits including a double and a homerun, along with three runs and two RBIs to lead the Lady Panthers.

Sophomore Chelise Morman had one hit with one run and a RBI.

Sophomore Kayla Cato knocked out a homerun with a RBI.

Lakima Terrell went 2-for-4 with a RBI for Clark Atlanta.

Shalinda Woods, who was credited with the loss, had one hit with two runs.

Junior Tiaria Norman picked up her 11th win for Claflin.

The Lady Panthers will return to action Saturday and Sunday when they host Benedict College in a three-game SIAC series at Adden Street Field..

First pitch for Saturday’s doubleheader is at 1 p.m. while Sunday’s single game gets underway at 1 p.m.
