The past week has been frustrating for the Orangeburg Post 4 American Legion Baseball team.
Coming off of back-to-back wins midway through last week, the team has now had 3 games rained out and one forfeited to them, including Wednesday night's rainout game that was originally scheduled for Aiken High School against Aiken Post 26.
Now, the Orangeburg team (6-6 overall, 4-2 in league play) will play next on Monday at home against Hampton Post 108 in a League I contest at Mirmow Field.
Post 4 head coach Dukes Isgett has said his team has been playing inspired, motivated baseball recently and really looks forward to getting back on the field against competition.
The June 6 rainout game at Hampton was postponed to Tuesday, June 11, when Post 4 returned to USC Salkehatchie to play, but Hampton did not have umpires on hand. The forfeit win was the only official game decision Orangeburg has had since an 8-4 home win against Charleston/Goose Creek Post 166 on June 4.
Rainout dates at Lexington and Aiken have not been rescheduled. As they are not league games, they are not necessary games for the regular season schedule.
