Forest Sutcliffe threw a shutout to lead the Orangeburg PONY Baseball team past Bamberg in a 10-0 game Friday night at the Orangeburg Prep baseball field.

The win, in just 6 innings of play, eliminated Bamberg from play and advanced Orangeburg to Saturday's championship game.

Sutcliffe allowed five hits and no runs in six innings, striking out two.

Orangeburg secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning, led by J.T. Robertson, Ronnie Nester, and Peyton Inabinet, who each had runs batted in.

In the fifth inning, Hayden McGugan blasted a 2-run home run to increase the lead.

Nester and McGugan managed multiple hits for Orangeburg, setting up a noon rematch Saturday against St. George.

The district champion will advance to play in the PONY Baseball state tournament in North Augusta.

Wednesday July, 11 - St. George 13, Bamberg 5

Orangeburg 15, Barnwell 0

Thursday, July 12 - Bamberg 15, Barnwell 3 (Barnwell eliminated)

St. George 5, Orangeburg 4

Friday, July 13 - Orangeburg 10, Bamberg 0 (6 innings, Bamberg eliminated)

Saturday, July 14 - St. George vs. Orangeburg, noon

Game 2 to follow if needed.
