SCSU women’s soccer hosts Bob Jones
The South Carolina State women’s soccer team returns to action on Friday against Bob Jones University at O.C. Dawson Stadium/Willie Jeffries Field. First kick is 7 p.m.
The Lady Bulldogs (1-8) look to rebound after a tough 5-0 loss to visiting East Tennessee State in their last outing. Meanwhile, Bob Jones (6-4) enters the contest having won four straight with wins over Brewton-Parker College (2-1), Piedmont International (3-0), Berea College (2-0) and William Peace University (2-0)
South Carolina State returns to action on Sunday in a 1 p.m. contest versus Delaware State at O.C. Dawson Stadium. Six seniors will be honored in a pregame ceremony during “Senior Day”.
Lady Bulldogs host Bethune-Cookman
The South Carolina State women’s volleyball team begins a six-game home stretch Friday versus Bethune-Cookman in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play at Dukes Gymnasium. First serve is 6 p.m.
South Carolina State (0-14, 0-2 MEAC) hopes to turn things around after a rocky start of the 2019 season. BC-U (4-11 overall, 1-1 MEAC) looks to turn the Lady Bulldogs away from their first win of the season.
SCSU returns to action on Sunday in a 1 p.m. Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) showdown with Florida A&M at Dukes Gym.
Jonathas breaks collegiate record, finishes 4th, at Worlds
South Carolina track and field senior Wadeline Jonathas made history on Thursday afternoon, breaking both the South Carolina and the all-dates collegiate record in the 400m with her time of 49.60 to finish in fourth place at the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
