Authorities have identified the victim of Monday’s fatal car crash.

Calhoun County Coroner Donnie Porth said 74-year-old Delores Zeigler of North died instantly of injuries she received when her vehicle traveled through a stop sign and under a passing log truck.

Investigators said the collision happened around 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of Kennerly Road and Bull Swamp Road about seven miles east of the Town of North.

South Carolina Highway Patrol investigators said Zeigler was traveling south on Kennerly Road toward the intersection with Bull Swamp Road.

Authorities said Kennerly Road has the stop sign.

Lance Cpl. Judd Jones said Zeigler’s 2013 Toyota entered the intersection where it was struck by a 1999 Freightliner logging truck.

The driver of the truck suffered no injuries.

Jones said the cause of the collision is still under investigation. Authorities said the weather was clear at the time of the fatal collision.
