The entire community is invited to celebrate the holiday season at the 2017 Orangeburg County Christmas Parade on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 3.
The "Polar Bear Christmas" parade will kick off at 3 p.m., following its traditional route down Russell Street from Seaboard Street to Magnolia Street.
Sponsored by Jimmy Jones Toyota of Orangeburg, this year's parade will be televised live and aired on Time Warner Cable's Channel 12, recorded on the Orangeburg County website and chronicled in The Times and Democrat and at TheTandD.com.
Bill Clark of Orangeburg Consolidated School District 5, Marion Lloyd of Orangeburg County and Melinda Jackson of the Orangeburg County Chamber of Commerce will be the hosts of the live broadcast.
To add to the Polar Bear Christmas theme, those attending the parade will be able to purchase hot chocolate at various stops on Russell Street.
Awards will be presented for first and second places for commercial business floats, non-profit floats and walking units.
