An Orangeburg man is accused of criminal sexual conduct with a girl over the Christmas holidays.

Larry Dornell Brown, 37, of 1687 Ambrose St., is charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under age 11.

He remains at the Orangeburg County Detention Center after a magistrate decided bond should be set by a circuit judge.

An Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office incident report states that the girl’s mother called deputies just after noon on Christmas Day.

The woman said her daughter appeared to be in pain during a bath.

After asking her daughter why she seemed to be in pain, her daughter was reluctant to say at first.

The daughter eventually explained the Brown had been “touching on her,” the incident report states. She said the incident occurred when she spent the night at another home on Dec. 23.

Deputies provided an escort for the girl and her mother to the Regional Medical Center so the girl could receive treatment.

If convicted, Brown faces a mandatory 25-year sentence in prison with a maximum penalty of a life sentence.
