Yonder Field’s 25,000-square-foot pavilion will be decked out with Christmas décor and lights as music from South Carolina schools and churches fills the air. There will be an Artisan Village with 25 local crafters presenting handmade Christmas crafts and gifts.

Admission to the event is free and parking is free. Admission includes access to live music, holiday decorations and light displays, story time with Mrs. Claus, Character Visits from Olaf, the Grinch, and The Cat In The Hat, vendor craft booths, food sales, and a festive bonfire. There will also an interactive learning experience about Christmas as it is celebrated in other countries and cultures across the globe.

Kids will be able to purchase an activity wristband that will give them access to amusement rides, craft stations and photos with Santa. Parents and kids can make holiday keepsakes, such as stockings, ornaments, garlands and cookie decorating. Amusement rides will include favorites such as trackless train rides and three inflatable obstacle courses, as well as a jump castle play area for kids 4 and under. All children in attendance will receive a free holiday- or winter-themed book from the Orangeburg County Library. Kids activity wristbands are $12 each until November 15. After Nov. 15, they will be $20 each. Wristbands will be $22 each on the day of the event.

Anna Zacherl, director of the Orangeburg County Library, said, “We have found a lasting relationship in Yonder Field and Stacie Darr. The next Lowcountry Christmas Extravaganza is going to be another opportunity to share our resources with the community and celebrate the joy of reading this holiday season. The library will be leading the craft areas and handing out free books to the children. We are currently working on expanding two branches and adding another location in Bowman not far from Yonder Field. Helping host an event like the Lowcountry Christmas Extravaganza is a great opportunity to also educate the community about these expansions as well.”

“Last year’s inaugural Lowcountry Christmas Extravaganza was a delightful homage to the joy of Christmas for kids and adults alike. We were blown away by the outpouring of support and love from the community, and we are so happy to be bringing back this magical event for its second year. We have new, fun surprises and great talent lined up. This event is such a joyous celebration of Christmas and community, and I predict lots of smiles and happy hearts to come!” said Stacie Darr, president/general manager of Yonder Field.
