The 2019 Voorhees College Homecoming step show will be hosted by Voorhees alumnus Jamal Josef, who recently performed in the opening act of the 2019 BET Awards show and choreographed sections of Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella performance.
Voorhees is celebrating the 123rd Homecoming with a “There’s no place like Voorhees” theme inspired by Dorothy from “The Wiz.”
Josef will incorporate thematic elements in the show while the Black Greek sororities and fraternities compete to take home the 2019 trophies.
He has selected Madame Juice, a native of Oakland, California, who serves as the president of Very Special Individuals Edutainment Factory, to serve as his co-host. Jordan “DJ Guice” Daniels, a former Voorhees student, will be on the “Ones and Twos.”

Josef said he wanted to hype the show up more this year.
“Every year we alum look forward to the step show. We want more interactive components and opportunities to celebrate all campus clubs/organizations. This year’s homecoming step show will have that and more. Homecoming will never be the same,” Josef said
Josef earned a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Voorhees in 2010. He lives in Los Angeles, where he is a professional dancer, creative director and choreographer.
The Homecoming Step Show begins at 7 p.m. Saturday and doors open at 6:15 p.m. Tickets for the Step Show/After Party are $20.
Tickets for the After Party only are $10.
