The homes of two Orangeburg County families were damaged by fire on Monday, according to the American Red Cross.

The Bowman Fire Department responded to a house fire Rail Street in Bowman.

The Red Cross is helping four adults and four children by providing financial assistance for food, clothing, lodging and other essentials, and comfort kits containing personal hygiene items.

A Bethel Forest Road home in Orangeburg was also damaged by fire. The Red Cross is helping one adult by providing financial assistance for food, clothing, lodging and other essentials.
