Two people, including an Orangeburg woman, have died in separate accidents in a span of two days.

Branham died when she was struck near Broad River Road, according to SCHP Master Trooper David Jones.

The incident is being investigated by the SCHP.

In a separate incident, one person died in single-vehicle accident at 6 a.m. Friday on Interstate 26 in Orangeburg County.

A 2006 Ford Ranger was traveling east near mile marker 147 when it ran off the left side of the road, overturned, struck the median and caught on fire, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Trooper First Class Tyler Tidwell.

The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, died on the scene. The driver was the only one in the vehicle.

“The Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office along with the SCHP is currently working to properly identify and notify next of kin of the individual fatally wounded in the automobile collision," Orangeburg County Chief Deputy Coroner Sean Fogle said.

The identity of the victim will be released once the next-of-kin is notified, Fogle said.
