Three people died following a collision in Calhoun County, according to S.C. Highway Patrol Cpl. Sonny Collins.
The collision occurred at about 7:50 p.m. Monday as a 2005 Honda Civic was traveling west on U.S. Highway 176.
A Chevrolet Camaro was traveling east on U.S. 176. It ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and hit the Civic in a head-on crash.
The driver of the Civic, who was wearing a seatbelt, and the passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died in the crash.
The driver of the Camaro, who was not wearing a seatbelt, also died.
The crash remains under investigation.
Calhoun County Coroner Donnie Porth said on Tuesday morning that the driver of the Camaro, Danny Lee Hartless, 21, of Sugar Maple Road, St. Matthews, died from blunt force trauma due to the accident.
Porth did not release the names of the occupants of the Honda Civic, pending notification of next of kin.
He said those victims include a 67-year-old male and a 48-year-old female, both of whom died from blunt force trauma due to the accident.
