C.F. Evans

C.F. Evans Construction was named by the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce as the ninth Best Place to Work in South Carolina among small and medium employers.

“We are honored to be on this list for another year, but most importantly, we are grateful for the feedback we receive from our employees,” said David Summers, president of CF Evans Construction, at the time of the initial June announcement the company made the list. “Their candor gives us an understanding of where we as a company can improve and implement change."

"Our purpose as a company is to create communities, and while we physically create them by building quality developments throughout the Southeast, the most important community we create is the one we have with our team members," Summers said.

It is the 11th year in a row that CF Evans has made the list. The rankings were announced Aug. 1 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

The program, in its 14th year, was created by SC Biz News in partnership with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in South Carolina.

The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics.

The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience.

The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and determined the final rankings.

Clarence F. Evans founded C.F. Evans in 1948. In 1986, his son, Johnny Evans, took on leadership of the company.

During his tenure, the company’s portfolio of multifamily housing, senior living, commercial and industrial and special projects has continued.

C.F. Evans works primarily in the Southeastern United States and has worked on a number of projects across the state. Projects have included multifamily housing, student housing, special-needs housing, senior living, commercial/industrial, health care, retail, educational, financial and worship.

The company has consistently earned statewide and national recognition.
