Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College is hosting day camps for middle and high school students this summer.

Space is still available for the Advanced Manufacturing and TDL Technologies Camp and Coding Academy for Girls.

Students in grades 8-12 interested in exploring product design, robotics for assembly and transportation, distribution and logistics are invited to the Advanced Manufacturing and TDL Technologies Camp on Wednesday and Thursday, July 10-11. Students will tour a distribution center in Columbia on Friday, July 12.

The Coding Academy for Girls in grades 6-8 is set for Monday through Friday, July 15-19. Participants will learn robotics, artificial intelligence, basic coding and programming, business concepts, teamwork and how to use their tech skills to create social change by collaborating on projects and activities using Java for programming apps, HTML for website design, Alice for programming in a 3D environment and VEX robotics.

Both camps require a non-refundable $50 camp fee, which includes snacks and lunch. Camps are limited to 20 participants. Also being offered this summer is the VEX IQ Robotics Camp for grades 5-7 on June 17-21 and VEX IQ Advanced Robotics Camp for grades 6-8 on June 24-28.
