BAMBERG – Services for William L. Kearse, 47, of 1109 North St., will be held at noon Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, Bamberg. The burial will follow in the Ebenezer United Methodist Church cemetery, Ulmer.
Mr. Kearse died Sunday, Dec. 2, at his residence.
Born April 5, 1971, in Camden, New Jersey, to the late St. Clair and Curlyn Franklin Kearse, he was a graduate of Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School, class of 1990, and attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church as a young man. “John John” or “Chill Will,” as he was known to both family and friends, served his country in the U.S. Navy. For over 24 years, he has been the life companion of Trina Charles, and to this union, two children were raised in the home. He was a professional truck driver and a past member of Masonic Lodge #40. William was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia 76ers fan. Surviving are his life companion, Trina Charles of the home; a stepdaughter, Alliyah Charles of Greenville; Rick Kearse of Charleston, Jalen Kearse of Aiken, and Javerick “Doo” Kearse of the home; brothers Curtis (Willie Mae) Franklin of Barnwell, Derrick Green of Newark, New Jersey, and Phillip Kearse and Marvin Kearse, both of Bamberg; two grandchildren, Jalin Whetstone and Za' Kiyh Rose; and his crew. “The Magnificent 7.”
Carroll Mortuary of Bamberg will be in charge of the services.
Friends may call at the fellowship hall of Mount Carmel UMC after the burial.
