ST. MATTHEWS -- Mr. Richard James Lee, 68, of St. Matthews, passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, at his residence after a brief illness.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg. Dr. Rev. Thomas Huggins will be officiating.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg.
Mr. Lee was born on Dec. 22, 1950, in Orangeburg, the son of the late Wilson Lee and the late Mary Virginia Moran Lee. He was a small business owner in Orangeburg for many decades. Mr. Lee retired from the South Carolina Department of Social Services. He was predeceased by his wife, Martha Morris Lee, and his daughter, Prudence Anton Ferris “Trudy Lee.”

Survivors include his daughter, Mary Amanda Lee of the home; brother, Timothy W. Lee (Patricia); and five nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Calhoun County Cares, 304 Agnes St., St. Matthews, SC 29135, or to a charity of one's choice.
