CORDOVA -- Myra W. Clayton, 65 of 123 Sable Drive, Cordova passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg.
She was born Jan. 5, 1953, in Newberry, the daughter of the late Horace W. Jones and the late Frances O'Neal Beville Jones. She was an alumni of Epworth Children's Home in Columbia. She enjoyed the outdoors camping and canoeing. She loved any and all animals. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially the grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. Kenji “Trudy” Nakamoto of Florida and a brother, Terry K. Ward of Cordova.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence P. Clayton of Cordova;
step-daughter, Martha A. Clayton of California; son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. Clayton (Beth Clayton) of Cordova; a daughter and son-in-law, Erin Ashley Clayton Jeffcoat (T.J.) of Cordova; four brothers, Rodney and Wayne Ward of Columbia, Larry and Barry Ward of Spartanburg; 10 grandchildren, Keiley Shane Kemmerlin, Kaitlyn Alexis Kemmerlin, Kameryn Oneal Kemmerlin, Michael Alexander Clayton, Christopher Taylor Clayton, Landon Bryce Clayton, Kairi Desarai Clayton, Phillip Joseph Solano, Gibson Bankey and Susi Bankey.
There will be no graveside service, but a small family memorial service held at a later date.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
