NEESES -- Julian Wayne Griffith Sr., 78, of Neeses, went to his heavenly home Friday, July 5, 2019.
Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, July 8, at St. George Baptist Church in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Dean Hightower, the Rev. David Anderson and the Rev. Steve Dees officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. at the church on Monday before the service, and other times at the Griffith residence, 105 Park St., Neeses.
Mr. Griffith was born March 6, 1941, in Orangeburg, a son of the late Bryan and Maude Banks Griffith. He graduated from Norway High School and attended Spartanburg Junior College, after which he worked for his father-in-law, James Brown Sr., for two years at his construction company. He then worked for McCrory Construction Co. for 45 years and retired as a superintendent. He supervised the construction of many beautiful buildings and was honored to receive many awards including the Craftsmanship Award of Excellence as Superintendent of Construction of the Ainsley Hall House Restoration in 1967.

Survivors include his wife, Jane Annette (Ann) Brown Griffith of Neeses; four children, Julian Wayne Griffith Jr., Melisa Griffith (Bruce) Judy, Janice Griffith Bair and Kenneth Griffith, all of Neeses; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two brothers, Richard (Doris) Griffith of Harleyville and Harry (Nellie) Griffith of Neeses; and a sister, Margarete (Frank) Geiger of Moncks Corner.
