Johnathan Jamal “White Boy” Busby, 17, of 608 Pentecostal St., Bamberg died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m., in the Greater Sweet Branch Baptist Church, Govan. The casket will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. The burial will follow in the Apostolic Church Cemetery, Govan.
Johnathan was born Dec. 23, 1995, in Orangeburg to Robert and Barbara Dowling Busby. He was a senior at Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School. His earlier education was obtained in the Denmark school system. At an early age, he joined the St. Phillips A.F. Church in Olar. White Boy, as he was known to by his many friends, was employed at the Bamberg Pizza Hut. He was a member of the JROTC.

Survivors include a daughter, Cerish Busby of Bamberg; his loving parents, Robert and Barbara Dowling of Denmark; four brothers, Tyshawn and Robert Busby Jr. of Gifford, Alex Mays and Sincere Gardener, of Denmark; sisters, Harmony and Biance Busby, of Denmark; paternal grandmother Loretta Busby of Estill; maternal grandfather, Bishop Edmond (Ruby) Dowling of Fairfax.
The Denmark Chapel of the Carroll Mortuary will be in charge of the services. Friends may call at the home of the mother Barbara Busby, 114 Caroline Court, Denmark, or at the father, Robert Busby, 266 Pinckney St., Denmark.
