LANCASTER -- Mr. Granvil Lewis "Bill" Peagler, Sr., 82, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2019, at his home.
He was born July 29, 1936, in St. George, a son of the late Gary Peagler and Mollie Martin Peagler. Mr. Peagler was a faithful member of Christian Assembly Worship Center
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Peagler will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Christian Assembly Worship Center, with the Rev. Marvin Tennant and Silberio Francis officiating. Burial will be private.
Mr. Peagler is survived by his wife, Betty Jeane Peagler; a son, Lewis Edward "Eddy" Peagler (Jenny) of Lancaster; four daughters, Nancy Burgess (Paul) and Carolyn Marie Robbins (Rob), both of Lancaster, Molly Roof (Ray) of Chester and Wanda "Tootie" Bowers (Floyd Godfrey) of Catawba; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Peagler was preceded in death by a son, Granvil Lewis Peagler Jr.; a grandson, Jimmy Duncan; and four brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, at Christian Assembly Worship Center, and other times at the home.
