NORWAY – Memorial services for George Robert Davis, 80, of Norway, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019, at St. John's United Methodist Church, 217 St. Johns Ave., Norway. Pastors Charlie Snipes and Nicholas Perez will officiate.
The family will greet friends for one hour in the church sanctuary prior to the service.
Woodridge Funeral Home of Lexington is assisting the family.
George Davis passed away Aug. 4, 2019. Born in Norway, he was a son of the late Ernest Fred Davis and Martha Lou Hutto. Known as the “Chainsaw Man,” he owned and operated a small engine shop in Cope and operated George's Logging for more than 30 years.

George is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Jeannie H Davis; daughters, Lynndie Proveaux (Phillip) of Cope, Kris Padgett-Fairey (Harold) of Norway, Janet Gerstner of Lexington, and Emily Maynard (Jeff) of Rowesville; sons, Kevin M. Hughes of Norway and Doug Sandifer of Bonneau; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters; a sister-in-law; and his “fur baby,” Anna. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by a brother.
