BAMBERG – The funeral services for Franklin “Blue” Carter, 72, of 640 Carver Road, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, Olar. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He died Friday, Oct 26, 2018, in an auto accident.
Born Oct. 18 1946, in Bamberg County to the late Curry and Lizzie Green Carter Sr., he was educated in the Bamberg County schools. At an early age, he joined Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. Blue, as he was called by relatives and friends, was employed at Low Country Wood Preserving Co. in Ehrhardt for over 30 years. He was also employed at McMillan Logging Co.
Surviving are his wife, Sadell Carter of Bamberg; two sons, Joseph (Loretta) Robinson and Tony (Jennifer) Ross, both of Bamberg; four daughters, Deloris Sapp of Bamberg, Angela (Lamar) Ross of Cope, Evelyn (Limell) Carter of Denmark, and Cristal (Eric) Middlebrook of Orangeburg; a brother, Curry (Earline) Carter Jr. of Bamberg; a loving sister, Elizabeth (David) Dukes of Bamberg; 26 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Carroll Mortuary of Bamberg will be in charge of the services.
