ORANGEBURG -- Erie Jimmy Garrick, 70, of Orangeburg, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2019.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, in the Thompson Funeral Home chapel in Orangeburg. Burial will follow in Amaker, Harley, Jeffcoat family cemetery in Orangeburg.
Mr. Jimmy was born April 25, 1949, in Orangeburg. He was the son of the late Erie J. Garrick and the late Dolly Thompson Garrick. He retired from Orangeburg Public Safety as a fireman and a public safety officer. Jimmy was also employed with TICO, Mariner and Pioneer Finance Company as the collection manager. He was also the owner of Garrick's Towing. He was a lifetime member of the Benevolent Order of the Elks #0897.

Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Linda Browder Garrick of the home; children, Tony (Amy) Garrick, Michelle (Tinker) Nesbitt, Stephanie (Tim) Derrick, Michelle (Shawn) Kordes, Shane (Kelly) Browder and Eric Browder; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Sandra Garrick Howard, Brenda Garrick Croft; a number of nieces and nephews; and his constant companion, Guapo.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at Thompson Funeral Home in Orangeburg.
