ELLOREE -- Mrs. Betty June McGee Polin of Elloree passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2019. She was 85 years of age.

Born Aug. 13, 1934, in Florence, she was the daughter of the late Phillip Eugene McGee and Dolly May Surles McGee. She was predeceased by her husband, David Earle Polin; her brother, Phillip Eugene McGee Jr.; and her son-in-law, Andy Thames.

Mrs. Polin was a merchant and she and her husband ran Polin's Grocery for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elloree and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion.

Services will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at First Baptist Church of Elloree. The Rev. J. Todd Horton and the Rev. Clark McCrary will be officiating. Interment will follow in Santee Baptist Cemetery.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

Mrs. Polin is survived by four daughters, Donna Thames of Manning, Sandra Clossman (Dan) of Elloree, Cindy Polin of Santee, and Kristie Anderson (Russell) of Elloree. There are five grandchildren, Seth Clossman (Gabi), Aaron Clossman (Megan), Luke Clossman, Aidan Closssman and Emma Anderson. The surviving great-grandchildren are Charlotte Clossman and James Clossman.

The family wishes to express their gratitude and appreciation to a very special caregiver, Beverly Coates.
