BRANCHVILLE -- Beatrice Williams, daughter of the late David Barkley and Iver Lee Goldsmith Williams, was born Jan. 12, 1948. She entered into eternal rest on Nov. 29, 2017, at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg.
The funeral will be held at noon, Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at New Covenant United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Zion Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Owens Funeral Home, 1707 Reevesbranch Road, Branchville.
At an early age, she joined Zion Methodist Episcopal Church. After the merger of the Branchville charge, her membership was moved to Wilson Chapel Methodist Church, where she served as a member of the choir. She became a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church in 1997 when Wilson Chapel and St. Michael merged under the leadership of the Rev. Julius L. McDowell.
She was a graduate of Lockett High School, Branchville. She also graduated from S.C. Area Trade School (Denmark Technical College) with a degree in industrial sewing.
She worked as a seamstress at Branchville Shirt Factory, Bamberg Manufacturing Company and Amblers Industry. She was a dietary aide at the Methodist Home (The Oaks). She also worked in various capacities at Antley's Barbecue, Ryan's Steak House and Chestnut Grill.
SHe leaves to cherish fond memories two brothers, Charles (Joyce) and Winfred Williams of Branchville; three sisters, Henrietta Butler of Denmark, Edith and Claudine Williams of Branchville; a niece, Natasha Williams; seven nephews, Melvin, Rodney and Steven Butler, Barron (Melanie), Kendall, Christopher and Tirrell Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.
