DENMARK – Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke will be returning to The T&D Region today for a town hall event at Voorhees College.

The former U.S. representative from Texas will hold the event in Massachusetts Hall at 3 p.m. Saturday.

O’Rourke first visited The T&D Region on March 22 during a stop on the campus of South Carolina State University.

O’Rourke is making a total of four stops during this tour of the state in what his campaign is calling “Three Days of Grassroots Events.” O’Rourke will also be visiting Charleston, Clemson, and Beaufort.

During his visit to S.C. State, O’Rourke spoke about topics including corporate corruption, decriminalizing marijuana, criminal justice reform and racial and economic injustice.

According to a press release, the Democratic candidate has visited over five states since announcing his candidacy on March 30.

Democratic presidential candidates have put an emphasis on visiting South Carolina due to the state holding its Democratic primary on Feb. 29, making it the first Southern state to do so.

O’Rourke isn’t the only Democratic candidate to recently visit the T&D Region. He joins a list that consists of U.S. Sen. Cory Booker; Miramar, Florida Mayor Wayne Messam and author Marianne Williamson.
