DENMARK - Voorhees College has been approved to serve as an official sponsor of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Summer Food Service Program, which will now begin on the new start date of July 2.
The USDA SFSP, also known as the Summer Meals (Feeding) Program, provides free meals to kids and teens from youth up to age 18 from low-income areas when school is out.
Voorhees will serve as a sponsor and community feeding site this summer. The full program will run for four weeks from 12 to 2 p.m. July 2-July 31. However, the site will be closed in observance of Independence Day on July 4 and 5.
Meals are served on a first come, first served basis and will be distributed at the Leonard E. Dawson Center (gym) on the Voorhees College campus at 5573 Voorhees Road in Denmark.
