Marco's Pizza

Marco's Pizza will join Affordable Dental, American Deli, World Finance and Cellular Pro in St. Matthews Square, which opened in 2018.

A new pizza restaurant is coming to Orangeburg.

Columbia-based Grace and Mercy Operations Inc. is opening a Marco's Pizza at 1564 St. Matthews Road.

The restaurant is tentatively scheduled to open Monday, Feb. 25, in St. Matthews Square next to the Walgreens across the street from Grove Park shopping plaza.

"We thought it was a prime location for some new pizza, and we really enjoy the people of Orangeburg," co-owner Andre Melvin said. "We thought it would be a great community to open a store like this. We like to give back to the City of Orangeburg."

"We welcome the people of Orangeburg, and we are excited about opening this business in your city," Melvin said.

Marco's expects to employ about 25.

The restaurant will provide delivery and take-out.

It is the first Marco's Pizza restaurant in The T&D Region. There are about 30 Marco's Pizza restaurants in the state.

"We are voted number one as far as pizza taste in the country," Melvin said. "Our cheese is never frozen. We don't use preservatives, and we make dough and sauce in house daily. You are guaranteed to get the freshest pizza you can get."

The restaurant will be open seven days a week.
