Mayor's Youth Council

Members of the Mayor’s Youth Council in North recently created a perennial flower bed and planted shrubs and flowers at the intersection of U.S. 321 and Highway 178 in the town. Mayor Patty Carson reported that the beautification project was funded by a grant from the Central Carolina Community Foundation.

NORTH - The North Mayor's Youth Council recently built a perennial flower bed and planted shrubs and flowers at the intersection of U.S. 321 and Highway 178.

Mayor Patty Carson reported the beautification project was made possible by a grant from the Central Carolina Community Foundation. North was one of 57 grant applicants for the grant from which 11 entries were chosen, she said.

Members of the Mayor's Youth Council, who are honor roll students at North High School, are Brianna Byrd, Zaacheaus Edmonds, Nireon Fields, Daiquel Houser, Patrick Mack and Amber New.

Carson announced the formation of the Mayor’s Youth Council at North Town Council's Oct. 9, 2017 meeting, noting the Youth Council would be participating in planning and implementing new town initiatives.
