Bamberg County Democrats supported the incumbent treasurer in Tuesday's primary race and selected a newcomer for the auditor's post.

In the treasurer's race, incumbent Alice P. Johnson won with 1,183 votes to challenger Cynthia Summers McMillan's 968 votes.

In the auditor's race, which pitted two newcomers against each other, the winner was Rosa Robinson Verner with 1,090 votes to Brandi J. Napier's 1,016 votes.

The polling results are scheduled to be certified by the Bamberg County Election Commission at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Kearse Agricultural Building in Bamberg. At that time, the commission will determine the status of several provisional ballots that were cast.
