The Senior Missionary Program speaker at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church will be Hilda D. Gadsden, a lifelong resident of North Charleston.
The program will begin 10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 20. Its theme is "Christ’s Mission is Our Mission: Reaching the Unreached."
Gadsden was elected the 16th president of the Woman’s Baptist Educational and Missionary Convention of South Carolina during the 113th annual session of the Woman’s Baptist Educational and Missionary Convention of South Carolina on June 14, 2018.
She began her work with the Woman’s Baptist Educational and Missionary Convention 48 years ago as member of the New Ashley Missionary Baptist Association. Later, she became a member of the Charleston County Missionary Baptist Association and continued her missionary work.

Gadsden is the president of the S.C. Association of Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widows Inc. and the former president of the Ministers’ Wives and Ministers’ Widows of Charleston County and Vicinity.
She is a certified instructor for the S.C. Baptist Congress of Christian Education.
Gadsden is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and a family consultant for the S.C. Alzheimer’s Association.
