Edisto High School’s graduating class held its Senior Walk recently, as the students made their way through the halls of Orangeburg Consolidated School District 4’s schools dressed in their caps and gowns.
May 28-30 was the final three days of school for the seniors. The week began Tuesday, May 28, with a senior breakfast of pancakes, sausage and eggs served by staff. Then at 11 a.m. began Senior Picnic/Game Day, which was held on the practice field. There was a giant “slip n' slide” set up, and the National Guard provided lunch. On Wednesday, May 29, senior movie day was held in the auditorium.
Thursday, May 30, was the seniors’ final day, which began with the district’s first-ever Senior Walk, in which 81 seniors participated. Seniors were invited to walk the halls of all four District 4 schools as a way to inspire the younger students and to reminisce about their past.

The walk began at Edisto Primary School, where they were received with enthusiasm. Then they went to Edisto Elementary School and Carver-Edisto Middle School, where the seniors to walked through the gymnasium during the eighth-grade awards ceremony to inspire the rising freshmen.
As the seniors were making their way through the hallways of the different schools, hugs and high-fives were given. Some of the seniors said they didn’t realize they would get so emotional.
The final walk-through was through the halls of Edisto High School. The seniors walked through to the sound of cheers and applause.
