A 31-year-old woman was flown to a Columbia-area hospital after her boyfriend allegedly ran over her foot in Branchville on Saturday, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.

Deputies responded to the Rowesville Fire Department at 8:07 p.m. as medics were preparing to load the woman into a medical helicopter.

Deputies weren’t able to speak with the woman. They were able to speak to a witness who said he was riding in a vehicle with the boyfriend and girlfriend, who was driving.

He said the two argued while traveling south on Rowesville Road. When the woman turned onto Hollyhock Road, the argument intensified.

He said the boyfriend struck the woman in her head with his cane, the report said.

The witness said he was able to secure the cane. However, the boyfriend allegedly pulled a blade from his waistband and threatened the woman with it.

The witness said he stopped the boyfriend by grabbing his hands.

The woman stopped the vehicle and got out. The boyfriend moved over to the driver’s seat.

The woman tried to get inside the vehicle through the front passenger door, but the boyfriend pushed her out, according to the witness.

When the woman fell out, the boyfriend allegedly accelerated and a tire ran over her left foot.

Sheriff’s office dispatchers said the boyfriend called 911 and stated that he pushed the woman out of the vehicle while they argued. A dispatcher tracked the call to the Radius Court area in Branchville.

Deputies patrolled the area in search for the boyfriend, but were unsuccessful.

A medic told deputies that the woman was extremely intoxicated when first responders arrived, the report said.

The medic also stated that the woman alleged her boyfriend pushed her out of the vehicle before the vehicle ran over her foot.
