The Orangeburg Department of Public Safety says a stabbing suspect is in custody. Police had asked for the public’s help finding the man.
Jasmine Lekendall Jones of St. Matthews allegedly stabbed his girlfriend at least five times on her face and neck last week. She also had cuts to her arms and hands, with some cuts reaching all the way to her bone, according to warrants.
She was taken to a hospital for surgery. Warrants say she was placed on a ventilator.
The 29-year-old Jones is charged with first-degree-burglary, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and attempted murder.
