A St. Matthews man reported he was assaulted after a confrontation over his dog wandering into someone else’s yard
On July 27, the man reported that his dog had strayed into a St. Matthews woman’s yard and that the woman hit the dog with a motorized fan.
When the man asked why the woman hit the dog and then slapped the fan off the woman’s lap, an unknown male struck him with a metal chair.
In other reports:
• On July 28, an employee reported that a woman had violated a no-trespass order by entering the Shot Stop Laundromat for the fourth time. She was arrested and taken to the Orangeburg County Detention Center.
• On July 19, an Elloree man reported that someone had entered his unlocked home and took a handgun valued at $400.
• On July 21, a St. Matthews man reported that someone had broken into his car and taken a gray .40-caliber Smith and Wesson pistol.
• On July 23, a St. Matthews man reported that the alarm on his garage activated, and when he went out of the house with his shotgun, he saw someone running away. He said he fired two shots toward the suspect but did not hit him. The deputy could not find any evidence that the suspect had been hit.
